 | Volunteers To members of West Lutheran High School Association Congregations:
It takes many hands to keep a store this size running and to keep up with the bountiful donations. There are ways to volunteer your time and talents even if you cannot come into the store on a regular basis. Please check our list below to see if you can help with any of our needs. If you can, call Lanita Farstad, our volunteer coordinator at 763-498-7282.
In-store needs: Can you help us EXPAND OUR STORE HOURS? Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Wise Penny usually top the $1000 mark in sales because we are open until 6 PM (two additional hours) on those days. If you look out into the parking lot after 4 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, you will see that we are losing a number of customers who drive in to shop, pull up to the door to check the hours, and then leave. Three teams of 3-4 individuals who would arrive at 3:30 and keep the store open until 6:00 PM would help out customers who work until 5 and be a big boost to store sales. Please let Lanita know if you could be a part of one of these teams (763-498- 7282). Extra help is needed to staff the store on the following days. Check your calendars and call Lanita (763-498-7282) if you can help on any of these dates: Saturday, September 15th Friday, September 21st Sunday, September 23rd Sunday, September 30th * Department leaders (work at the store at least twice/month at your convenience) - Toy department
- Book department - Greeting card department - Boutique department
Needs that could be met by someone at home: - A person who loves to write to help with regular newsletter publishing - Polish silver - Fix dolls - Keep our web site updated - Let us know what you like to do, and we'll find a match
Volunteers of the Month We have started a new volunteer recognition program. There is a drop box in the Wise Penny workroom on the telephone desk. Add the name of someone on your team whom you would like to see recognized and tell us why. Each month three names are drawn, and those volunteers receive a $20 gift certificate.
